At Its Headquarters, Karama Organization Hosts Rights Activists and Leaders of Pro-Sahrawi Independence Organizations

In a demonstration of its continued commitment to supporting the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, Karama Organization recently hosted a distinguished group of human rights activists and leaders of international organizations that advocate for Western Sahara’s independence. This gathering is part of a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening international solidarity with the Sahrawi cause and coordinating efforts with international partners to support the Sahrawi people’s struggle for full independence over their homeland.

Discussing Key Issues and Planning Future Actions

During the meeting, attendees discussed several pivotal issues related to the Western Sahara conflict, reviewing the latest developments on the international stage and emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts to confront the challenges faced by the Sahrawi people in their resistance against occupation. One of the central topics was the recent European Court of Justice ruling, a significant legal victory for the Western Sahara cause. Participants explored how this ruling could be used to increase international pressure in support of Sahrawi rights and to mobilize more support for the Sahrawi cause.

Direct Communication with Activists in Occupied Territories

In a gesture that demonstrates Karama’s strong connection to the ground realities, a direct call was made to activists in the occupied territories, allowing them to share firsthand updates about the situation and the daily challenges they face under occupation. This communication enriched the discussions, providing a vivid picture of the Sahrawis’ hardships inside the occupied lands, thus inspiring further collective efforts to support them effectively.

Joint Plans to Advance the Sahrawi Cause

The meeting concluded with a unified commitment to work together in achieving the Sahrawi people’s aspirations for freedom and independence. Participants agreed on future plans and support programs, including increasing coordination between organizations, engaging with influential international bodies, and leveraging international legal rulings like the European Court’s decision to strengthen the Sahrawi position on the global stage.

Through this gathering, Karama Organization reaffirms its deep commitment to defending the rights of the Sahrawi people, amplifying their voice on the international stage, and persistently pursuing justice and freedom for Western Sahara.
